16 kilometers from the city’s center, on the Nairobi-Kikuyu Road, is the provincial boys’ school Dagoretti High.
This residential school has a little over 900 students.
Due to an incident at the Dagoretti school, where disagreements between students over religious beliefs resulted in the posting of police, Kenyans awakened this morning to some unwelcome news.
For security reasons, an eyewitness who witnessed the argument said that it started when one student called another Muslim a terrorist.
The police said that the unrest started on Sunday night after a football march and increased throughout the course of the night, necessitating their intervention to lower further tension.
The management board of the school has been invited to discuss the following steps.
Kenyans should remain calm while the situation is being controlled by the police stationed at the school.
