On the Kaduna-Abuja Highway, a mixed team of police and military troops stopped a bandit expedition on Monday.

One of the robbers was killed, and the crew was able to recover one AK-47 firearm as well as nine of the criminals’ functional motorcycles.

DSP Mohammed Jalige, the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident in a statement made in Kaduna on Monday.

“On Monday, June 13th, 2022 at about 0255hrs, the rewards of the renewed vigor and deliberate coordination between the police and the military in Kaduna State came to the fore once again when the combined team of Police Operation Puff Adder and the Nigerian army Operation Thunder Strike while on regular patrol along the Kaduna–Abuja highway at Sabon Sara had an encounter with armed bandits who were on their way to Kaduna,” DSP Jalige said.

According to the statement, an AK47 rifle and nine bandit-style motorcycles were uncovered during the search, and the authorities aren’t resting on their laurels when it comes to protecting motorists and other legitimate road users.
