On Saturday night, June 11, Floyd Mayweather couldn’t hold back his tears as he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall Of Fame.
The former American boxer was overcome with emotion as he accepted the award, which is considered one of the highest honors a boxer can get.
Laila Ali, the daughter of the great boxer Muhammad Ali and a good fighter in her own right, had to console him.
“I’m not sure what to say,” Floyd said as he began his victory speech.
“I promised myself I wouldn’t weep, but this is a lovely thing.”
“Today is one of the most memorable days of my life.”
“To all these champions up here,” he added as he looked around at the other inductees.
“All of these champions shaped me into the person I am today.”
“Former champions, I could name a slew of names; the list is endless.”
” These fighters make me so proud. I’m not even here to talk about myself, since without them, there would be no me.
I’m glad Juan Manuel Marquez and Shane Mosley have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

He stated, “This isn’t just about Floyd Mayweather.”
Mayweather honored his family, especially Floyd Mayweather Sr., who assisted him in his training, and Josie Harris, the mother of two of his children who died two years ago.
“I adore my father because without him, none of this would be possible,” he stated.
“And I promised myself over and over, ‘I’m not going to weep when I get up here,’ and I meant it.
I’m going to deliver a fantastic speech about how proud I am of my mother, father, and family.
‘ You always see my father, who is the finest trainer in the world. My father will never be replaced as a trainer.
‘You know what, son? They call boxing the ‘Sweet Science,’ so my father responded, ‘You know what, son? In boxing, the less blows you take, the longer you’ll be able to last.’
“I’m going to take fewer punches, retire on my own terms, and make wise investments so that I may live well long into retirement,” I added.”
“Boxing involves blood, sweat, and tears,” Mayweather said. What the hell, I’m crying on a beautiful day like this? “These are happy tears.” My portfolio is fantastic.
Fighting men like Shane Mosley and Manny Pacquiao, who are incredible, unbelievable, great champions — I adore all of them.”
The boxer then spoke about what drives him to compete in sports. “When people tell me I can’t accomplish something, it motivates me to push even harder.” To be the greatest, I keep pushing myself to be the best.”
